Dr Shadbolt is a Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of General Practice at the University of Sydney, holds a conjoint appointment with the Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health Service and is in clinical practice at the General Practice Unit at Hornsby Hospital. Dr Shadbolt is also the Associate Dean for Student Support, Chair of the Community Term, Sub Dean of the Hornsby Hospital Clinical School and Director of the Academic GP Unit
As well has senior roles in the area of Medical Education, Dr Shadbolt has a long standing research and teaching interest in the health and well-being of doctors and has published and taught extensively in this area both nationally and at international forums. She is a past President of the NSW Doctors Health Advisory Service. The health and well-being of young doctors and students is a special interest. An interest in the health and well-being of older doctors and consideration of how doctors adapt to the normal ageing process has lead to the development of the formation of the Adapting to Ageing Advisory Group (A3G) Australia.
