Dr Sarah Winch is a health care ethicist whose academic training is in sociology with a clinical background in dementia, palliative and community nursing. An experienced health manager she has created innovative and sustainable services in HIV/AIDS, Women's Health, Dementia Care, Practice Development and Clinical Ethics. Sarah has been consulting in clinical ethics and research ethics for two decades. She is an associate editor for clinical ethics at the Journal of Bioethical Inquiry and has published over 50 academic journal articles and book chapters in a variety of areas including ethics, the history of ideas, evidence based practice and research capacity building. Currently Sarah teaches medical students ethics and health law in addition to conducting research on futile treatment, conflict of interest and just models of resource allocation within health care.
